Derrick Rose is a real star , but after serious injury he might never come back to production before , but if he will he is a top player. Will not compare him to other PG's signed here , simply GSW offer:

Before Rose's knee injury, he was a border line max guy. Going to take some more time to decide if the knee has dropped his value this drastically.

Tony Parker was re-signed last year for 5,5M , from existing contracts Rondo is more then 20M , Westbrook is 2,9M, Paul is 13M , Deron Williams is 9,5M .

There is no "max", so thats not really a starting point for discussion. There is no question in my mind that Rose would get a lot more on the open market than 8 mil. He'd probably be in the same range as DWill's 9.5 mil contract from 3 seasons ago, maybe higher because there is a lot more open cap space floating around this season. He is a former MVP after all, and still very young. That said, he will miss nearly this entire season. And whether he will ever regain the explosiveness that was a key to his success is a huge question mark. I also have always thought that there should be a small discount for using a resign on a player, not a premium for keeping him off the open market. Some people disagree with me on that. All things considered, 8 mil/yrs isn't far from what I'd be willing to pay Rose considering the question marks. 1-0.

Rose's rehab has been going great. If he comes back at even 75% then this is a steal. At least $10.5 to get it done for me. And that is strictly because of the injury.
