I know its early, some of these guys are still up for bid, but this poll just had to be made. Who is your guy so far? What GM has shot themselves in the foot so hard that they may never walk again?

Gotta be Rondo. Mike Miller will put up more than him and got 7 mil less. CJ Giles might not have warranted a roster spot, but he did get the minimum...

One minimum too much if you've ever watched him play!
Every time I hear someone blow a whistle I think to myself, "Hmmm, C.J. Giles must be playing basketball somewhere."
Seriously though, Mike Miller kinda seems like a steal compared to what the rest of those guys are gonna get paid, and I almost chose to bid him higher, but then I look at what Amare is makin on my team and I just couldn't justify it.

Here is my list, in order, with explaination:
Rajon Rondo: I don't understand this contract at all. Rondo only helps you in assists, and he's not even among the league leaders in that category. He is not an efficient scorer, and shoots for poor percentage. His point totals are low. His rebounds are on the low end. The justification for the contract is that the GM HOPES that Rondo becomes a 18/9/6 player within the next couple of years. I didn't realize you pay players 21 million based on hopes for performance. I thought you paid that type of money for guarunteed value. If we are paying 21 million based on hopes for performance, I need to get at Washington for Darko, because obviously the hopes for performance were greater than Carmelo. We all know how that worked out. LOL. Rondo's contract is, by far, the worst of this free agent class.
Andre Miller:[/color] I had Andre listed as my top point guard heading into free agency for the simple fact that he is efficient, not spectacular, in every category, and doesn't hurt you in any one category. He would provide you with stable play, without having to be the star on your team. But this contract is insane considering Andre's age and the contract length. He'll be back in free agency within 3 years with someone having to eat the cap hit simply because he is nearing the end of his career. He will be retired well before this contract is expired.
Monta Ellis: INSANE!!! Has anyone ever bothered to check the stats on this kid? I ran his stat line for Crowny yesterday, and there is no way that this kids stats justify this type of contract. He is a scorer, and that is about it. He hurts you in practically every other category. Assists and rebound totals are low. FG, 3 pt, FT percentages are all low. He is a scorer, and that is it. This contract makes no sense at all.
Rudy Gay: Out of all of them, Rudy has the most "star" potential in this free agent class. But not 25 million worth. This type of contract should be reserved for Kobe, Lebron, Dwight, CP3. Other than that, no one else comes close to commanding this type of contract.
Whats funny is that a bunch of GM's just made upper mid level players superstars (by salary standards) in this league. Yet, Lebron, Kobe, Dwight, CP3 are all under contract and can be resigned at a reduced rate as restricted free agents when their contracts expire. It's gonna be funny watching true superstars performing for GM's at 10 million, while this class of free agents underperforms at 25 million. ALL YOU DID WAS INCREASE TRUE SUPERSTARS VALUE TO THEIR CURRENT OWNERS DURING THIS FREE AGENCY PERIOD. That, and priced yourself out of serious contention for the playoffs or a championship because there is almost no way that you will compete with a complete roster with these horrible contracts on your roster. Good luck trying to dump them too, it will only cost you 5 million, or the equivalent of a solid player at a decent contract that could help your team in the long run. Good job everyone, you just made this league easier for teams that already have star talent (Portland, Washington, Seattle, Golden State) and teams that are actually being financially savvy (Boston, Dallas, Washinton, Milwaukee)!!!

BTW...Dalembert needs to be on this list. 11 million for a 10/10 player is ridiculous. If he is commanding that type of contract, I wonder what type of offers Washington is recieving for David Lee whose contract is less that a million. He should be able to pull a couple stars for Lee based on this leagues standards, while Dalembert will be a difficult contract to move.
And yes, Mike Miller is the biggest steal up to this point.

Actually, Steal won't be the right term... "Most Reasonably" paid would be better... but still too much...
Good thing you gave your cap away this season for future picks.. saved you from this madness...

dalembert was 10 mil and everyone is forgetting that he ranked 4th in blks in the nba First of all...Yes, he was 4th in the league, but still more than 1 block per game behind the block leader for the season. Second of all...We are talking about a single category. A category where Alonzo Mourning trailed Dalembert by less than 1 blocks. Third of all...There is not that much of a difference in the league in blocks, so please try convincing me that this one single category is worth significantly overpaying a 10/10 player. Fourth of all...The difference between 4th and 50th is little more than a block per game. So lets keep this in perspective. We aren't talking about points, where the difference between 4th and 50th is 10. If the trend in this league is pay 1+ million per stat category, then we'd all have a ton of 9 million dollar players on our roster. $hit, TPM has Howard on his roster at less than 6 million, and he beats the hell out of Dalembert in almost all categories. Ya'll are seriously shooting yourselves in the foot during free agency, and i'm laughing my a$$ off with each ridiculous bid.

The reason Howard is only 6 mil is because that was before he signed his extension... i could be wrong though

even still...when tpm has to re-sign him, it will be at the same range as dalembert just signed for. you are talking about a player who far outperforms dalembert, playing on a roster for the same salary or less. it's crazy.

No it wont evil, it will be higher. You dont think guys like LeBron, Melo, Howard, and Wade are going to be 5-stars do you? No, they are going to have their own category.

Yeah.. WHOOO for starting the league one year before Howard maxed out! I know Chris Pauls owner can feel me on this.
Dalembert is bad, but Rondo, Miller, and Ellis by far take the cake.
I cant understand paying a guard 20 million until hes 39, when he had the best season hes had in years at the age of 33.
Add the Maggette deal, because this leaves Kanye with about 76 million in committed salary, making it look like Gilbert Arenas will be the top FA next year.
Rondo is a role player, and has no star potential, but he makes star money?
And I would just be repeating what Evil said about Ellis.
Considering Miller was arguably the second best fantasy player available ( compare his stats to Gay, Ellis, and Maggette you'll see what I mean) and I got him for 5-10 million less than the rest.. yes he is the steal of FA so far.
